Keeping busy...Our cake pop adventure!

So..over the weekend my cousin Marissa and I decided to try to make cake pops. Lets just say the first attempt was not very good. The took a really long time to make and I think we made our candy just a little to thin for dipping. They were a drippy mess and the candy took a really long time to harden. We ended up only decorating a few of them for Halloween and the rest ended up as just plain cake balls. One thing I can say though...they were delicious! I can see why people love them...I just don't see how they say they are so easy to make....they lied lol. Here are a couple photos of our decorated cake pops..the photos not very good because it came from my phone.

The mummy, the black cat and the pumpkin are the only ones that actually turned out OK. Next weekend we are going to work on making a professional cake using fondant. I think that adventure will be a little better than this one..at least I hope so!

Life's Changes....

I haven't blogged for about two years! So...life has definitely changed...some good...and some bad. I graduated from college with a bachelors of Art. I am now a licensed art teacher. I do not have a teaching job yet but I am working as a paraprofessional for a boy with exceptionalities. I am working full time and no longer in school...which is weird to say the least. I have been in school my entire life....well that's all of the good change....
About a year ago we found out my father had lung cancer...he had 2/3 of his left long removed and things were going well. Then in May of this year his scans came back positive once again for cancer...this time in his adrenal glands. Before even a month had passed we found out he cancer had spread to his brain. He kept his hopes up, prayed, and fought to live. He did 6 treatments of radiation, and then 3 treatments of chemo therapy. He was doing very well and had a very strong will to live..We got positive test results back on his cancer..it was shrinking. Then on September 3, 2012...Labor Day...my father passed away at 2:20 a.m. due to complications that only showed themselves in that last 24 hours, that involved his cancer. The doctors think the cancer had spread to either his liver or his stomach and that is what took him from us.
My father was a great man. He died on a day that definitely described him, he was a hard worker and took care of his family very well. He was surrounded by friends and family and passed away in his sleep. I miss him very much and it just doesn't seem real that he is gone. I love you my daddy! I will always be your little girl!
Rest In Peace Mark Anthony Hale Sr....I Love You!
